How to wash your knit

The good news is that Merino wool products require very little washing as they have self-cleaning properties due to the keratin in the wool that breaks down bacteria.
Our wool is 100% machine washable and can be washed on a cold gentle wash, ideally on a wool setting. We prefer to gently hand wash in cold water but we'll leave that decision up to you!
Once the knit has been washed, lay it out flat on a towel and roll the knit within the towel to squeeze out any excess water. Leave the knit to dry on a flat surface as the weight of the wet knit can cause stretching.
We recommend using wool friendly washing liquids or a bio detergent with enzymes as they eat away the superfluous threads, helping to reduce pilling.
When shopping for detergents, we recommend using wool friendly liquids or bio detergents with enzymes as they eat away at the superfluous threads, helping to reduce pilling! Look for ingredients like cellulase, amylase, pectinase, and protease, which break down sugars and carbohydrates, proteins, and other molecules. Powder detergents can be abrasive. Liquid detergents will cause less rubbing, and reduce pilling that occurs in the wash.
Our knits can be dry cleaned, but we do advise against it. Dry cleaning isn’t a very sustainable method of cleaning and it can cause damage to your knits.
